Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-21

These terms govern your use of the seedkit platform. By creating an account or running the seedkit CLI against our API, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.

Definitions

“seedkit,” “we,” “our,” or “us” refers to the entity operating the seedkit platform. “Services” means seedkit.dev, the dashboard, the seedkit API, and the open-source seedkit CLI. “You” or “your” refers to the account holder and any users acting under that account.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes are communicated by email to account holders and reflected in the “Last updated” date above.

Account terms

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and personal access tokens secure. You are responsible for all activity performed under your account, including by teammates you add.
  • You must not use the Services for unlawful purposes, to violate anyone's rights, or to generate data intended to deceive downstream systems or people.
  • Only humans may create accounts. Automated or bot-driven signup is prohibited.
  • You are responsible for the schemas, prompts, and other inputs you send to the Services. Do not submit confidential material belonging to third parties without permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services or bypass quota limits; (b) use the Services to generate data for credential stuffing, fraud, or spam campaigns; (c) reverse-engineer or resell the hosted Services as your own product; (d) upload malware or attempt to execute arbitrary code on seedkit infrastructure.

Plans, payment, and refunds

  • The Free plan is available at no cost and does not require a payment method. Per-plan limits are listed at /pricing and reflected in the billing settings.
  • Paid plan charges apply immediately at upgrade. Plan changes take effect at the start of the next billing period unless otherwise noted.
  • Stated prices exclude applicable taxes; we collect VAT or similar taxes where required.
  • Refund requests are reviewed case by case. Reach us at ben@seedkit.dev.

Cancellation and termination

  • You can cancel your subscription any time from Settings → Billing. Access continues through the end of the current billing period.
  • Upon cancellation or account deletion, active-system data is permanently removed within 30 days and backup data within 60 days. Recovery is not possible after that window.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, exceed fair-use limits in ways that threaten platform stability, or are used to abuse our staff or other users.

Changes to the Services and pricing

We may modify, add, or discontinue features at any time. We'll give at least 30 days' notice before price increases affecting existing paid plans, by email or by notice in the dashboard.

Availability and “as-is” service

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We target high availability and use reasonable technical measures to protect data (encryption in transit and at rest, periodic backups), but we do not offer a formal service-level agreement except as part of a written custom agreement.

Data processing and subprocessors

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. The third-party services we rely on are listed on the Subprocessors page.

Intellectual property

The seedkit CLI is open source under the MIT license. The dashboard, marketing site, API, and related infrastructure are proprietary. You retain ownership of the schemas, prompts, and other inputs you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process those inputs solely to provide the Services to you — including calling large-language-model providers on your behalf to generate seed SQL.

Generated seed data returned to you is yours to use for any lawful purpose. We do not claim ownership of the synthetic rows produced for your account.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to the Services. Our aggregate liability for direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or fifty euros, whichever is greater.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the courts of Berlin, Germany, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
